Global Payments Inc has signed an agreement with BitPay to incorporate cryptocurrency into its service offering.
Global Payments is one of the world’s largest providers of payment solutions, serving the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
This opens up Bitcoin to a wide range of new markets, including restaurants, automotive, education, healthcare, hospitality, and much more. If you’ve used a debit or credit card in a store, chances are you’ve used a Global Payments machine before.
David Mangum, President and COO of Global Payments, had this to say about the new arrangement:
We focus on delivering innovative products and services to our global customer base, and this relationship provides us the ability to offer our merchants an integrated digital currency payment choice. We are please to partner with BitPay to provide next-generation payment solutions to our customers.
BitPay has already helped several other businesses join the cryptocurrency world, including Newegg, Tiger Direct, Virgin Galactic, xHamster, and WordPress. They also helped Mastodon and 50 Cent sell their new album for Bitcoin.
