Duckduckgo Integrates Bitcoin Wallet Address Search - From The CoinFront

Duckduckgo, the anonymous search engine popular within the Bitcoin community, has integrated a new feature which allows users to search Bitcoin addresses.

The service, developed by Biteasy, effectively turns Duckduckgo into a rudimentary version of a Bitcoin block explorer similar to Blockchain.info or Biteasy itself.

How Does It Work?

Duckduckgo’s search engine UI is the same as Google, Bing, Yahoo, or any of the other major search engines. Type in what you’re looking for, hit enter, and they’ll give you some results.

Now with Duckduckgo, you can copy and paste a Bitcoin address into the search bar. From there, Duckduckgo will recognize the fact that it’s a Bitcoin address. It will display a QR code for the address, as well as the wallet’s current balance, total coins received, and total sent, along with a Biteasy link to explore more.

Duckduckgo’s search algorithm is dedicated to true online privacy. To that end, they don’t track any searches you make, nor do they store your personal information. This is a double-edged sword, since your search results aren’t as personalized.
