ASICrising, a new German startup, believes it has a design for a new chip which would cut the energy requried for Bitcoin mining nearly in half.
The chip, called Wolfblood Extreme Efficiency, takes only 0.19 joules of energy per gigahash, compared with 0.37 joules for the most energy-efficient chips currently on the market.
The company, which is changing its name to CoinBau, is designing its chips to work in conjunction with a special piece of software designed to work with them.
One of the problems with developing energy-efficient chips is the fact that the less power it uses, the more unreliable it can become. But the software designed to work with ASICrising’s chips finds the lowest possible voltage required for the chips to oprate at any given time, which not only makes them more energy efficient, it also boosts their reliability.
ASICrising has been working with RacyICs, a German chip design company.
ASICrising is currently looking for investors to help fund their project. To discover more, visit their official website.
