DISH announced back in May that they would be accepting Bitcoin. That dream has now become a reality as the company received its first Bitcoin payments this morning
The option for DISH customers to pay in Bitcoin is now available for all customers.
“DISH is now accepting Bitcoin because we are listening to customers and providing them with the choice and convenience they want”, DISH COO Bernie Han said in a post on the company’s official blog. “Whn we announced that DISH customers could pay with Bitcoin, we heard some enthusiastic feedback from Bitcoin users.”
To process their Bitcoin payments, DISH is working with Coinbase, and will be exchanging their Bitcoin payments for US dollars.
The first customers to pay their DISH bill in Bitcoin were Austin and Beccy Craig, stars of the series “Life On Bitcoin”. Watch a video of them paying their bill below.
