CAVIRTEX Is Launching Ten New Bitcoin ATMs Across Canada - From The CoinFront

Late last month, The CoinFront reported on CAVIRTEX’s recently acquired fleet of Bitcoin ATMs. Now they’ve decided on where to put them.

In fact, several of them are already in position.

The Bitcoin ATMs number ten in total, and are being deployed at the time of writing.

The ATMs are being rolled out as part of a new relationship with Gateway News Stands, a company that operates a series of small news stands & snack outlets in high-traffic areas, such as subway stations and other hubs.

Kyle Kemper of CAVIRTEX’s marketing division, took a break from his frantic race around Ontario installing their new Bitcoin ATMs to explain a bit more about the new partnership to The CoinFront:

Gateway was looking for new ways to attract customers and stay relevant. We approached them with the idea, and they liked it. Why not get in on the future of money?

Where Are They?

Each Bitcoin ATM is being installed at a Gateway News Stand location in Canada.

Six of them are being placed in the GTA; with one each at Scarborough Town Centre and Yonge & St. Clair subway stations, the Greyhound bus station, Yorkdale Mall, Brookfield Place, and Square One Mall in Mississauga.

The remaining four are being distributed across Canada. One is at Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls, one in Ottawa’s Bayshore Mall, one in Vancouver’s Pacivic Central train station, and one in Banker’s Hall in Calgary.

Each of these locations was chosen to try and bring Bitcoin to underserved areas. Currently there are several Bitcoin ATMs in the GTA, including those operated by Bumblebee Exchange and BitSent, but in a city the size of Toronto it’s good to have several spread out.

Why ATMs?

At this point, Canada may have more Bitcoin ATMs than any other nation. With QuadrigaCX gearing up to launch their fleet of 30 ATMs, why has CAVIRTEX decided to enter the market?

Part of it has to do with CAVIRTEX’s vision of becoming what Kemper called a “vull-service Bitcoin provider”.

A fleet of Bitcoin ATMs with CAVIRTEX’s branding emblazoned across them will go far in helping CAVIRTEX further establish itself as the biggest provider of Bitcoin to Canadians.

It’s also an effort to prepare themselves for the next big Bitcoin bubble. Around last year, when the price really began to soar, CAVIRTEX was overwhelmed by the number of new accounts and demand on its servers. But with Bitcoin ATMs set up, they can offset some of that traffic and streamline the process.

CAVIRTEX will be holding a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to announce their new partnership with Gateway. The event will be held at the Bitcoin ATM at Brookfield Place, 183 Bay St, from 8 until 11 AM, with the ribbon being cut at 10 AM. All are welcome to attend.
