Safello, a Swedish Bitcoin exchange, has enabled a new service which allows its users to acquire bitcoins using their phone.
The service was created through a partnership with payment gateway Swish.
According to a post on Safello’s official blog,
One of the core ideas behind the Bitcoin technology is to transfer funds quicker and cheaper. At Safello we are committed to make payments as simple as possible. In line with this effort, we are happy to have integrated with mobile transaction service Swish to enable direct payments.
In order to access the service, Safello users need to attach their bank account to their phone and download an app, which is available for Android, iOS, and Windows phones.
The transactions on exchanges can sometimes be slow, but Safello guarantees their transactions will be completed in less than 24 hours.
Swish is a money transfer service owned by Sweden’s major banks. It’s designed to allow transfer of funds by way of mobile phones, making it a good match for Safello’s new service.
However, some Bitcoiners may be put off by having thir Bitcoin transactions all processed by a central bank.
Nevertheless, the service, available only to Swedes, will help lower the barriers to entry into the Bitcoin marketplace. With only a bank account and a smartphone app, anyone can become a part of the cryptocurrency world.
