Sir Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin enterprises, was interviewed on Bloomberg and asked about Bitcoin. And he had some kind words to say about the currency.
“I’m not foolish”, Branson said. “If people have got lots of Bitcoins and they want to get into space, I’d much rather they spend that on our spaceships.”
He also claimed Bitcoin “is working”, and that many industries are popping up around it.
Branson announced his company, Virgin Galactic, would begin accepting Bitcoin payments last November. He said in a Tweet that “Virgin Galactic is the future of travel. It’s time we let future astronauts pay with a futuristic currency.”

When asked about when Virgin Galactic would be prepared to take flight, Branson admitted it was proving more difficult to build the infrastructure and test the safety of their rockets than he originally anticipated.
However, “early next year we will finally be up and away.”
