Autumn Radtke's Death Officially Ruled A Suicide - From The CoinFront

A Singapore court has officially ruled Autumn Radtke’s death a suicide.

Radtke’s body was found in her Singapore apartment in February of this year. Coming shortly after the collapse of Mt. Gox, many believed her suicide was related. However, the coroner’s findings indicate that her death was due to “issues on the work and personal front”.

The coroner’s report, released Monday, said that Radtke was “determined to end her life”, and that she “had made concerted efforts toward facilitating this outcome”. Specifically, they mention her search history, where she had researched suicide methods.

Radtke was the CEO of First Meta, a virtual currency exchange and digital asset consolidation service.

Bitcoin’s Old Guard Struggling

Many of the largest figures from Bitcoin’s earliest years have faced adversity as the currency grows. While stalwarts like Gavin Andresen and Andreas Antonopoulos are still well respected, many others aren’t so fortunate.

Charlie Shrem, a self-proclaimed “Bitcoin millionaire”, former director of the Bitcoin Foundation, and former CEO of BitInstant, has had his share of legal troubles, being held under house arrest until the time of his trial in relation to activities with the Silk Road online black market. Though he has recently reached a plea deal, Charlie Shrem isn’t out of the woods yet.

And speaking of Silk Road, Ross Ulbricht, alleged to be the leader of Silk Road under the pseudonym “Dread Pirate Roberts”, has been held in custody and is fighting the legal battle of his life.

Former Neo & Bee CEO Danny Brewster has been on the run from authorities for several months now, facing charges of fraud. And while Brewster attempted to clear his name, some of his former employees returned fire with much more support from the community. His current whereabouts are unknown.

And then, of course, there’s Mark Karpeles.

Why have so many of Bitcoin’s early figures turned out to be such tragic figures?
