If you live in a town where merchant adoption just isn’t what you’d like it to be, you’ve got a few different options.
You could do it the old fashioned way, by talking to the merchants you know about accepting Bitcoin and trying to educate them on it.
If you’ve ever tried this before though, you know it can be a slow, sluggish process, and you’ll run into a lot of resistance and misinformation about what Bitcoin is or what it does.
Or, you can just bribe them.

The idea is to pay store owners cash up front to start using Bitcoin. You pay them an amount in cash which you float yourself. From there, the merchant downloads *thisApp to their phone, which includes a Bitcoin wallet.
As they start receiving Bitcoin payments, they’ll go right to your wallet until you receive the amount back which you floated the shopkeeper. And whenever the shopkeeper creates a new wallet through the app, you keep the private key.
This could serve as a useful incentive for merchants to accept Bitcoin. It puts the risk on bitcoiners signing up merchants, and creates a pretty good deal for the shopkeeper.
It also allows you to, in a roundabout way, convert your fiat currency to Bitcoin without using a centralized exchange or a Bitcoin ATM.
If you’re a Bitcoin true believer on a crusade to increase merchant adoption in your area, *thisApp could be a useful tool for you.
